In leading others, both rational and emotional intelligence is important. Emotional intelligence is, indeed, the most important factor in a leader’s success.

Studies show that EQ (Emotional Quotient) determines 70% of success, while IQ (Intellectual Quotient) determines 30%.

Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand, manage and express one’s own emotions and to recognise the emotions of others and, therefore, to manage relationships with balance and empathy.

Emotional intelligence allows one to better understand human nature and thus have more compassion for oneself and others. And, from a point of greater understanding, it allows one to better motivate oneself and oneself.

Understanding human nature, being a master of one’s own emotions, connecting to others on a deeper level, knowing the language of emotions, managing the emotions of others, knowing how to distinguish emotional choices from rational ones, is what constitutes emotional intelligence.

There is no business without relationships. Every business is an extended team, whose members must work together in the same direction. And while part of the success equation is clearly rational, part is emotional and must be developed properly.
